So...the Ole Miss football season hasn't gone the way I wanted it to or the way I thought it would. Thats Ole Miss sports though..you gotta learn to live with it. Ive been a fan since I was 7 or 8 and I am now 22. I have never seen us go to an SEC championship. Will it happen in my life time? I don't even know. The SEC West is the toughest division in the country in the toughest league in the country. We have to face Bama,LSU,Auburn, and Arkansas every year! Enough with that.
I voted for Artair Rogers for ASB president...big mistake. The ASB is a joke Richard Mccay and Artair Rogers all felt like it was time to get rid of From Dixie With Love..and Chancellor Dan Jones didn't know how to handle the situation at all. If your going to get rid of something don't delay it. Dan Jones is going to see a HUGE rebellion against him and the ASB on saturday in the grove and at the game. I am against students yelling TSWRA, but there could have been several ways to avoid what is about to happen. Now we have the KKK fired up...just what Ole Miss needs. You know the last home game the chant was scattered. What the hell does TSWRA even mean...I mean seriously we all know its not going to rise again. Its nothing mre than a redneck chant. The way the country is going I wouldn't mind if Texas became its own country and the south went with it. Thats another story for another day. All I can say is the 6k students that yell it i guarantee you don't even know what they are yelling...they are hammered drunk and the majority that yell it are not racists. Ole Miss always finds a way to give itself a black eye to the media and America. Name another school that has as many problems as we do. Everything we have is considered racist.
Why don't we just get rid of the name Ole Miss and Rebels and become Manning University Fighting Brothers...if your going to get rid of every symbol then get rid of it...don't take 10 years to get rid of the next thing. First was the flag which I agree we should have gotten rid of, then colonel reb...sorry i think that was silly getting rid of, the american trilogy by elvis, and now FDWL.
What is next...our colors? Thats pretty racist I mean red and blue is the color of the confederate flag. How has Ole Miss lasted this long and Rebels..enough with that I am tired of it and I am tired of people looking at us as a racist school because we are not. We are our own worst enemy...we really are. Its gotten out of hand. Dr. Jones messed up on this and the ASB are complete IDIOTS along with the students the rebelled and yelled TSWRA...there was a better way to resolve this and now its going to get really bad...its going to be interesting to just sit back and watch.
On another note...went to Auburn for the Ole Miss football game and that was a great weekend. I loved the town and the two bars I went to. Quixoties if thats how you spell it and Sky Bar...wish we had Sky Bar in Oxford. It was nice not having to worry about curfew but just enjoy the whole night out. 5 guys...we need that in Oxford...we need alot of things in Oxford haha. I had 40 dollars in my pocket before I went to Auburn and I was like...40 dollars isnt going to take me anywhere (i have plenty of money in my bank account but was deteremined not to use my debit card that weekend)...So I went to Tunica the night before Auburn and came back home that night to Oxford with 300 dollars in my wallet! It was a good night! Made some new friends at Auburn that go to Ole Miss. They really helped me out friday night...I was sitting at toomers corner thinking now what and I remember saying I hope I see someone I know and right when I looked up there they were!
After Auburn I went to Talladega and that was an experience in itself. I should have dressed up like a redneck, but I didn't. Saw plenty of rednecks there and I went to the very front row and felt the debris from the tires. It was crazy I would have been a dead man if they crashed right where I was. Its unbelievable how safe they have made the cars...its still dangerous but whats his face flipped his car like 8 times going 170mph and was able to walk away....I go 50 mph flip my car 7 times in high school and about kill myself. I have never seen so many RVS in my life...its like Bonaroo and Mardi Gras combined x 100,000!!! Not even kidding. I saw some crazy things too haha i 5 year old girl having to carry the cooler of beer for her dad...I took a picture of that on my blackberry!
3 weeks of school left...making the most out of this semester. I am going on a cruise to Guatemala,Belize (i cant wait for Belize...looks unbelievable!!), and Cozymel for Christmas and ill be in the Caribbean for my birthday! Can't wait!
